Two versions of Windows Media Center in Vista

Thursday, May 25, 2006 - posted by Tom Mohamed

Microsoft is planning to release two versions of Windows Media Center in the next version of their operating system Vista.

There will be 6 versions of Windows Vista. Three versions of Vista will be for the home user, while two will be for businesses and one will be for emerging markets.

One of the home versions of Vista (Home Premium) will include Windows Media Center Edition software, which is expected to improve greatly on the current version with improved functionality and performance especially with the 64-bit processing power.

The other version of Vista (Ultimate) will also include Windows Media Center Edition, however the features for this version will be a lot greater than on the Home Premium version.

Microsoft have not unveiled the extra features of Windows Media Center Edition as yet, or the differences between the two versions, but Microsoft promise amazing things in the next version of Windows Media Center Edition.

Vista was expected to be launched by the end of 2006, however this has been pushed back till January 2007.
